A PEARLfect Dress

Black and White is a MAJOR trend this season. I ALWAYS love to see what the house of CHANEL puts down their elaborate runways. Every season Karl Lagerfeld realizes a different fashion fantasy dream. Spring/Summer 2013 showed a lot of black and white and the fabulous signature CHANEL faux-pearl accessories.

These two PEARLfect pieces in particular caught my eye:

Total PEARLfection! I love the "pearls" are the embellishment on the dress and top, not just the accessory.

At EvolutionVintage you can acquire a PEARLfect Vintage Givenchy dress in black velvet with the same PEARLfect embelishment! An amazing piece of Fashion History.

ROCK the SOCK

SUNO

I have had a love hate relationship with the premise of wearing a sock with a high heel, open or closed toe. I love a sock with a bootie without question.
Me Rocking my Socks with JustFab "Mariana" booties & "Visionary" Bag

A sock with a heel is a little harder to digest for me but I am swiftly acquiring a taste.

The trend has been back in full force on the runways since 2009 but started (As all "trends" do) much earlier.

I Dream of JEANie

Graphic by LISAG - Barbra Eden rocking JUSTFAB  Tuxedo Jeans (1965 meets 2013)

In a sea of skinny jeans women are face with a fit challenge. I have searched high and low looking for the perfect fit skinny jean for my body type.  I have tried many brands all to find a fit that is too low of a rise. If your body is not perfectly fit and hard you experience the dreaded "muffin top" and I know we all have had a muffin moment we don't care to relive.
Dreaming of the perfect fit?
It can now be a reality! I have found the perfect skinny jean fit for me at a reasonable price point at JUSTFAB.com  I was seriously apprehensive when I ordered their "Signature Skinny" but I had faith that their creative director Kimora Lee Simmons KNOWS her jeans so I decided to take a risk.
At $39.95 it is an affordable risk to take that yielded an amazing result!
The jeans are cut perfectly and sit a little higher than a standard low rise skinny. Don't be confused with "mom, high waisted jeans". I have a fashionable friend who is "short waisted" and they fit her like a glove too.
For those of us with a little more 'junk in the trunk' the pocket placement on a jean is everything. I felt like the goldilocks of denim with my Just Fab jean pocks in size and placement ... juuuust right!
There is bound to be a color or a print for you that suits your style.

Sizes range from 25-36

They can also be styled a multitude of ways!

What's your Signature Skinny??

Kashmir Kouture

Today's inspiration can be found in the sexy sands of the middle east. I forgot about how much I LOVE the Page and Plant version of Kashmir circa 1994.  I saw the concert at the tender age of 16 and this track never left me.  I love Led Zeppelin and never was fussy about the original Kashmir from 1973 but THIS version is a whole other musical experience. A Rock N Roll edge with a middle eastern undertone; where Marrakesh meets Metal!. Full Mata Hari madness with a full orchestral accompaniment and ethnic instruments from Egypt. The song was originally written referring to Southern Morocco (This was despite the fact that the song is named for Kashmir, a region in the northwestern part of the Himalayas.). This song feeds my passion and love for Classic Rock , Classical Music and different cultures.

BUY IT HERE
*They have remastered the Cd since I got mine and the Kashmir track is unavailable for single download - you must purchase the entire album.  Run Time: 12:28

Also, check out this cool video clip of Page& Plant in Morocco and all the elements that inspired the new arrangement of this classic rock tune!

As ALWAYS music and fashion for me go hand in hand. Some iconic Middle Eastern Style Moments:

Sex and the City 2

Margaretha Geertruida "M'greet" Zelle McLeod (7 August 1876 – 15 October 1917), better known by the stage name Mata Hari, was a Dutch exotic dancer, courtesan, and accused spy who was executed by firing squad in France under charges of espionage for Germany during World War I. Full Middle Eastern Flair!
