A Gaultier Good Beat

En route to events, school and regular errand running there is always music on in my car.  My 5 year old daughter is very vocal about what she likes and does not like. Recently she has become OBSESSED with the 90's club/dance group Deee-Lite. It's been a while since the release of their first album, World Clique in 1990 but I still dig their beats.  In particular the track "Good Beat" which was always my FAV and now my daughters.

And in true Deee-Lite style there are a few mixes of the song but I like this one best:
When I listen to Deee-Lite I am immediately transported back to the runways of the 1990's. Deee-Lite with their catchy beats and mixes were the go-to group providing the soundtrack to several runways shows in the early 90's. Lady Kier was a chic and cartoonish flashback to the psychedelic 60's with her fabulous makeup, prints and platforms (LOVE HER!) Her style has always been inspiring to me and still is looking back.

When I hear Good Beat I think about the Spring/Summer 1991 Jean Paul Gaultier show that was a twisted mix of the garden of eden gone rasta. Hard to believe, I know but somehow it works.

Couch Critique: 2013 Golden Globes

The Golden Globes are always a highly anticipated red carpet for me as it marks the beginning of award season. I always celebrate the looks I love here. No need to bash the bad, if you don't see it on my list there is a reason.. I literally was couch critiquing yesterday with a less than fabulous flu.

My FAV looks:
Julianne Moore in Custom Tom Ford.
Katharine McPhee was a SMASH hit in Theyskens Theory
Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen
Kate Hudson was Natural and Flawless! Love the neck/shoulder dress detail!
Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthei

 Olivia Munn in Georgio Armani
 Louise Roe in Femmes d'Armes
Naomi Watts in Zac Posen
Kerry Washington in Miu Miu & VINTAGE Movado Watch

Jessica Alba was STUNNING in Oscar de la Renta WITH a fabulous diamond necklace which to me is the crown jewel of strapless dresses (PS: not a fan of that bag).
My biggest underwhelming moments came via accessories, or the lack there of. So many lovely strapless dresses ALL with bare chests. I think Jessica got it right and looks like a movie star. The rest ... boring. IT looks more cocktail than red carpet without the necklaces. We can call this red carpet "trend"
Naked Neck.

Get Lippy

LIP Brooch designed by Salvador Dali ~  1949

There are so many motifs, prints and themes when it comes to fashion and accessories. One of my FAV's right now are LIPS! You get an easy choice each day to choose a lip color; red? coral? pink? or type of lip adornment; stick? gloss? stain? but it may not be so easy to decide when to 'Get Lippy' when it comes to your overall look with clothing or accessories.

Here are a few FUN pieces I love:

Lauren Moshi Lip Sweater ~ $158 (New Customers get 20% OFF)

Custom KISS Key Chain
(Send your lipstick mark and have it made into a FAB key chain)

**Note: The same print in a Cosmetic bag will soon be available on her Website with 20% going to a developing country safe water CHARITY - the print came from lipstick kiss marks of people on her staff! There are also 2 other dresses in the print. FAB!**

How will you get LIPPY this season??
