Golden Globes: 2015 Red Carpet

I look forward to award season because it is a great time to see the artistry of fashion on display. I love the parade of the richest, most famous people who have something I actually admire; The unprecedented access to the best designers, current, custom as well as vintage archives. I'm astonished at some of the choices and wonder if the celebrity is really dressing authentically or on the advice of their hired stylist and/or the pressure of pending public scrutiny.

This red carpet was overall underwhelming for me and in keeping with my past Red Carpet Recap's I highlight and celebrate the looks I did like. I enjoy celebrating and feel no need to criticize the fashion choices of others or the red carpet looks I personally didn't care for. We all are trying to make an individual statement aren't we?

Today vs Yesterday: Emma Stone

Actress Emma Stone has become quite the red carpet fixture in Hollywood. I LOVED the Pink Valentino dress she wore last night to the ELLE Women in Hollywood Event. From my Stylist perspective I adore the Black & White gingham shoes and clutch too (belting this dress would have also been an option).

It always makes me happy to see fashion's past being re-styled and designed in a modern way. I guess the designers at Valentino had a peek into Mr. Valentino's archives for this piece from the 2013 Resort Collection.

Want the look in an authentic Vintage way? Style with current accessories or reach out to your seamstress and have the dress shortened to knee length as Emma is wearing it.

Pretty Peplum's

I never thought I would see the day; the resurrection of the peplum. I remember them from the 80's and I now see them on the runways! Once again, the Fashion industry is based on the recycling and re-working of ideas from days gone by. To me, this is why Vintage clothing is SO CHIC! and at Evolution Vintage why I can Re-Style Fashion's past current. The origin of the peplum was not in the 80's but all the way pack to the 1920's when it rocked frocks in a different forms.
